“A Christ-centered liberal arts university in the heart of Nashville, equipping students to grow intellectually, spiritually, and professionally.”
Trevecca Nazarene University is a private, four-year Christian liberal arts university founded in 1901 and affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. Situated on a 90-acre campus approximately 1.7 miles southeast of downtown Nashville, Tennessee, Trevecca has spent more than 120 years cultivating an educational community centered on holistic student development — intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual. With students from all 50 states and 39 countries, the campus is a diverse yet tightly knit community united by a shared commitment to faith, service, and academic excellence. The university is accredited by SACSCOC and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Academically, Trevecca is organized into eight schools covering arts and social sciences, business, education, leadership, theology, music, STEM, and health sciences. Together these schools offer 20 associate degrees, 81 undergraduate majors, 25 master's programs, three doctoral programs, and several specialist and certificate options. Approximately 94% of faculty hold terminal degrees, and the student-to-faculty ratio of 20:1 enables meaningful mentorship. Standout programs include nursing and physician assistant studies — both posting 100% licensure pass rates in 2025 — along with computer science, business administration, education, and music and worship arts. A 3-2 engineering dual-degree partnership with Vanderbilt University and joint ROTC pathways further expand student opportunities. Life at Trevecca is shaped by its Nashville location and Wesleyan-Holiness heritage. Students attend chapel three times per week, engage in domestic and international mission trips, and participate in campus traditions such as Trojan Idol, Friday Night Live, Block Party, and Homecoming. The university competes in NCAA Division II athletics in the Gulf South Conference across 15 sports. Nashville provides unparalleled access to music, healthcare, business, and tech industries, with major employers like Vanderbilt Medical Center, HCA Healthcare, Amazon, AT&T, and Nissan all within reach. Trevecca graduates post a 93% employment or graduate school placement rate within one year of graduation.
