“Public community college in Lufkin, Texas offering career and transfer programs as the Roadrunners”
Angelina College is a public, two-year community college founded in 1968 in Lufkin, Texas. The college serves a 12-county East Texas service area in the Pineywoods region and enrolls roughly 4,500-5,000 students each year through associate degrees, technical certificates, and dual-credit partnerships with area high schools. Its 169-acre main campus on Lufkin's south side is anchored by the Temple Theater, the Hudgins Health Sciences Center, and a residence hall serving athletes and out-of-area students. Academically, Angelina College is structured around four schools of instruction: Visual & Performing Arts, Sciences and Mathematics, Liberal Arts, and Business and Technology. The transfer core curriculum articulates with Stephen F. Austin State University and other Texas publics, while the workforce side runs strong programs in Nursing (LVN and ADN), Respiratory Care, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, EMS/Paramedicine, Pharmacy Technician, Welding, HVAC, and Electrical Technology — many of these track directly into the timber, healthcare, and energy economies of East Texas. The college's most popular majors are General Studies, Registered Nursing, Business Administration, and Criminal Justice. Angelina College fields a notable NJCAA Division I athletic program — the Roadrunners — with men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and volleyball drawing recruits from across the country. International students are welcomed through a small but established F-1 program managed by the college's Primary Designated School Official; cost-of-attendance is among the lowest of any U.S. SEVP-certified institution in Texas.
