The University of North Georgia (UNG) is a public multi-campus university and one of six Senior Military Colleges in the United States, with its historic Dahlonega campus serving as the original site of the institution founded in 1873. Across five campuses — Dahlonega, Gainesville, Oconee, Blue Ridge, and Cumming — UNG enrolls approximately 20,000 students and offers programs in arts, sciences, business, education, and health sciences. UNG's Corps of Cadets and ROTC program are nationally recognized, producing some of the highest number of US Army officers of any institution in the country. The Nighthawks compete in NCAA Division II athletics through the Peach Belt Conference. International students from nearly 50 countries attend UNG through the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), and the university maintains partnerships with institutions in Europe and East Asia. As a member of the University System of Georgia, UNG combines affordable in-state tuition with a distinctive military heritage.
