Tyler Junior College (TJC) is a public community college located in Tyler, Texas, founded in 1926 and one of the oldest and largest community colleges in the state. Serving more than 19,000 students annually, TJC offers associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training programs across a wide range of disciplines including healthcare, technology, business, liberal arts, and fine arts. The college is nationally renowned for its Apache Belles drill team, one of the most celebrated precision dance and drill teams in the country, and for its strong NJCAA athletics program competing in football, basketball, baseball, and other sports. Unlike most community colleges, TJC offers on-campus housing for students, providing a full collegiate experience in the heart of East Texas. Located in Tyler, known as the Rose Capital of the World, TJC maintains a beautiful main campus and serves students throughout Smith County and the surrounding region. The college's Black and Gold colors reflect its proud Apache heritage, and in 2022 it introduced Harry the Hawk as its official mascot character to complement its athletic tradition.
