Scripps College, founded in 1926 by newspaper philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, is a women's liberal arts college in Claremont, California, and the newest member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges consortium. With approximately 1,100 undergraduates, Scripps is one of the most selective women's colleges in the country. The college's distinctive Core Curriculum in Interdisciplinary Humanities provides a shared intellectual foundation that connects all Scripps students across disciplines. As part of the five-college Claremont consortium, students have access to 2,700+ courses and the social life of a 7,000-student community.

How life on campus actually feels — clubs, sports, traditions, housing realities, and how the school integrates with its city.
Scripps' Core Curriculum in Interdisciplinary Humanities is the college's signature academic feature — a three-semester sequence exploring ideas, cultures, and values across disciplines. Beyond the core, Scripps offers 34 majors and 31 minors with particular strengths in biology, neuroscience, media studies, politics, and the arts. Cross-registration across the Claremont consortium means students can take courses at Pomona, Harvey Mudd, CMC, and Pitzer without restriction. The Joint Science Department shared with Pitzer and Claremont McKenna provides access to research facilities far beyond what a 1,100-student college could typically offer.
