“Think SF”
Santa Fe College is a public state college located in Gainesville, Florida, the home of the University of Florida. Established by the Florida Legislature in 1965 as Santa Fe Junior College and opening its doors in September 1966, the college was renamed Santa Fe Community College in 1972 and again to Santa Fe College in 2008 to highlight its growing portfolio of baccalaureate degree programs. Santa Fe enrolls more than 18,000 credit students and an additional 12,000 non-credit learners annually, making it one of the larger state colleges in Florida. The college offers associate, bachelor's, and certificate programs across health sciences, natural sciences, business, arts, education, and technology. Santa Fe is recognized for its award-winning programs in zoology, veterinary technology, natural sciences, and radiography, and maintains a vibrant partnership with the University of Florida given its shared Gainesville community. The college's Saints Blue and White colors, mascot Caesar the St. Bernard, and strong campus culture reflect a proud institutional identity. Santa Fe College has been named one of the top 10 community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute, and its graduates consistently demonstrate strong transfer outcomes to UF and other Florida universities.
