Palm Beach State College (PBSC) is a public state college located in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, serving Palm Beach County through multiple campuses in Lake Worth Beach, Boca Raton, Belle Glade, Palm Beach Gardens, and Loxahatchee Groves. Founded in 1933 as Palm Beach Junior College, making it one of the oldest community colleges in Florida, the institution was renamed Palm Beach State College in 2009 to reflect its expanded bachelor's degree offerings. With approximately 25,000 students, PBSC is one of the larger colleges in the Florida College System, offering associate degrees, bachelor's degrees in applied fields, and workforce certificates across healthcare, business, technology, education, and public safety. The college is particularly well-regarded for its nursing and allied health programs, which feed directly into Palm Beach County's substantial healthcare industry, as well as its early childhood education, criminal justice, and fire science programs. Palm Beach State College maintains an active international student community with students from more than 150 countries, and the Office of International Education supports F-1 students with visa compliance, cultural adjustment, and academic advising. The college welcomed a record number of international students in Fall 2025. PBSC's Panther athletics teams compete in the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Situated in one of the wealthiest counties in Florida, Palm Beach State College serves a diverse student population that includes traditional college students, career changers, working adults, and transfer students, providing accessible and affordable pathways to four-year institutions and workforce entry throughout Palm Beach County.
