Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) is a public community college located in Sylmar, California, in the northern San Fernando Valley. Founded in 1975, LAMC is one of nine colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and serves the communities of Sylmar, San Fernando, Pacoima, Arleta, Granada Hills, and surrounding areas. The college enrolls more than 10,000 students in associate degree, transfer, certificate, and noncredit programs across liberal arts, sciences, business, health sciences, information technology, and career technical education. LAMC is particularly well known for its nursing and allied health programs, as well as its strong transfer preparation pathways to California State University and University of California campuses. The LAMC Eagles compete in the Western State Conference and California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) in basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
