Lindenwood University is a private, nonprofit comprehensive university founded in 1827 by Mary Sibley as one of the first women's colleges west of the Mississippi River. Located in historic Saint Charles, Missouri — a charming city 25 miles northwest of downtown St. Louis — Lindenwood has grown into a vibrant coeducational institution serving approximately 6,800 students from across the United States and 60 countries worldwide. Ranked #124 among Regional Universities Midwest by U.S. News & World Report, Lindenwood offers more than 200 undergraduate and graduate programs through its colleges of arts and humanities, business, education, science and technology, and fine and performing arts. The university is especially recognized for its programs in business, mass communications, education, fine arts, nursing, and sport management. In 2022, Lindenwood announced a historic transition to NCAA Division I athletics, joining the Ohio Valley Conference — one of the most significant milestones in the university's modern history — with full Division I membership achieved in 2025. The Lindenwood Lions and Lady Lions now compete in football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, and additional sports at the Division I level. Lindenwood's strong 10-year median graduate earnings of $53,278 reflect excellent professional outcomes across its diverse academic programs. With 13% of its student body from 60 countries and a prime location in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Lindenwood delivers an internationally diverse, career-connected college experience.
