“Michigan's only Work College, where faith, learning, and service converge in the Reformed tradition.”
Kuyper College is a small, Christ-centered liberal arts institution set on a 34-acre campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded in 1939 as Reformed Bible Institute and renamed Kuyper College in 2006 to honor Dutch theologian and statesman Abraham Kuyper, the college exists to educate Christian leaders for service within a Biblical Reformed worldview. With approximately 200 students, Kuyper offers an intimate, residential academic community where faith, academic rigor, and practical experience are woven together into every aspect of campus life. Kuyper is Michigan's only Work College — a designation shared by fewer than ten colleges nationwide. Through its distinctive KuyperWorks™ program, all resident students are guaranteed on-campus or off-campus employment, integrating real-world professional skills with academic study and service. This combination of learning, working, and serving gives Kuyper graduates a concrete professional advantage. Academically, the college's most popular programs include Social Work (CSWE-accredited BSW), Ministry Leadership, Business Administration, Theology, and Interdisciplinary Studies. The Social Work program draws significant enrollment, preparing graduates for careers in human services, community development, and social justice. Business students learn to lead with both competence and character, grounded in Reformed Christian values. Located on the northeast side of Grand Rapids — one of Michigan's largest and fastest-growing cities — Kuyper students have access to a vibrant community with a strong healthcare sector, arts scene, growing technology industry, and robust nonprofit ecosystem. These local opportunities are particularly relevant to Kuyper's graduates in social work, ministry, and business. International students are welcomed with F-1 visa sponsorship, dedicated admissions support, and the International Ambassador Scholarship for students planning to return to their home countries to serve their communities after graduation.
