“The River — Career & Workforce Training”
Indian River State College (IRSC) is a public state college located in Fort Pierce, Florida, serving the Treasure Coast region of Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. Founded in 1959 as Indian River Junior College by the Florida Legislature, the college relocated to its current Fort Pierce campus in 1963 on 87 acres donated by the city. In 2008, it gained State College designation, allowing IRSC to offer bachelor's degree programs while retaining its community college mission. IRSC enrolls approximately 22,000 students across associate, bachelor's, and certificate programs in business, health sciences, technology, education, and the arts. The college is nationally renowned for its swimming and diving programs, with the men's team claiming 50 consecutive NJCAA national championships and the women's team winning 46 national titles. This extraordinary athletic tradition reflects the college's commitment to excellence in every endeavor. IRSC also offers strong nursing, fire science, law enforcement, and culinary arts programs, and serves as a key workforce partner for the Treasure Coast's healthcare, aerospace, and tourism industries.
