·Public University (Access College)
Georgia State University-Perimeter College is a public access college founded in 1964, operating as the two-year campus system of Georgia State University (GSU) across five metro Atlanta locations: Alpharetta, Clarkston, Decatur, Dunwoody, and Newton. Following the landmark 2016 merger of Georgia Perimeter College with Georgia State University, Perimeter College became one of the nation's most innovative access institutions — combining the open-admission model of a community college with the full resources, faculty, and academic reputation of a major research university. Students pursue associate degrees and transfer seamlessly to GSU's Atlanta campus to complete bachelor's degrees in over 250 programs. Perimeter College's Clarkston campus is nationally celebrated for its extraordinary diversity, serving one of the most internationally diverse communities in America. Represented by GSU's Panther mascot and competing under the GSU banner, Perimeter College is transforming college access, completion, and student success throughout Georgia.
