John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) dedicated to education, research, and service in criminal justice, law, forensic science, and public policy. Named after John Jay — the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court and a Founding Father — the college was founded in 1965 as the College of Police Science and renamed John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1967 to reflect its broadened educational mission.
