Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitz (CYTTL) is the flagship rabbinical college of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement, located at 770 Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York — the global headquarters of Chabad. The yeshiva was founded in its original form in 1897 in Lubavitch, Russia, by Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn, the fifth Chabad Rebbe, and was reestablished in the United States in 1940 when the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe arrived in America during World War II. With approximately 810 students, CYTTL is an all-male institution dedicated to intensive study of Torah, Talmud, and Chassidic philosophy according to the Chabad tradition. Students immerse themselves in a rigorous curriculum of Halacha (Jewish law), Talmud, and the mystical teachings of Chabad Chassidus as elucidated by the Lubavitcher Rebbes. The yeshiva draws students from across the United States and around the world, as nearly 90% of Chabad yeshiva students globally are expected to study at the central yeshiva for at least a period of time. The Kvutza program specifically brings advanced students from Israel and abroad for immersive study at 770. With tuition of just $8,400 per year and 95% of students receiving financial aid, CYTTL provides an accessible religious education rooted in the Chabad mission of spreading Torah study and Jewish awareness worldwide. Graduates serve as rabbis, educators, and outreach emissaries in Chabad communities across more than 100 countries.
