California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is a public university located in Seaside, California, founded in 1994 on the former Fort Ord military base. As one of the newer campuses in the California State University system, CSUMB has rapidly established itself as a distinctive institution with a strong emphasis on service learning, sustainability, and collaborative education. The Otters compete in NCAA Division II in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
